Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic integrity, scientific quality, and relevance to the field of orthopedics and musculoskeletal health.
1. Initial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is evaluated by the Editorial Office to ensure that:
-
The topic fits the journal’s aims and scope
-
The manuscript follows the required format and ethical standards
-
The content is free from serious methodological or scientific flaws
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant sub-discipline.
In the double-blind process:
-
Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors
-
Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and scientific contribution
-
Clarity of research questions and methodology
-
Validity and reliability of results
-
Ethical compliance
-
Relevance to the field of orthopedics and musculoskeletal research
-
Quality of discussion, conclusions, and references
3. Review Decision
After receiving reviewer reports, the Editor makes one of the following decisions:
-
Accept as is
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Request major revisions
-
Reject
Authors receiving revision requests are expected to resubmit their revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. A detailed response to reviewer comments must accompany the revision.
4. Second Review (if necessary)
For manuscripts requiring substantial changes, the revised version may be sent back to the same reviewers for further evaluation. The process may be repeated until the manuscript meets the journal’s standards.
5. Final Decision and Production
Once the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes:
-
Copyediting
-
Layout and formatting
-
Proofreading
Authors will receive page proofs for final approval before publication.
